I Found Him, P.K.

I worked in the area of geological and mineral-deposit survey for 38 years in Taiwan, and traveled all over the island. Regretfully, I never found any mineral deposits of great value, such as gold or petroleum mines. However, I found the greatest valued “mineral deposit” unexpectedly. I found God and the local churches. This is the great discovery that changed my whole life.

At the age of 30, I felt life was vain and meaningless. Consequently I often went to movie theaters and read newspapers and magazines extensively. Each time I came out of the theater, the feeling of emptiness and loneliness, which I could not be rid of, overwhelmed me while I was walking in the midst of the crowds.

Although I had believed in the Lord for many years, I didn’t know Him very much, and had no appetite for reading the Bible either. Eventually, one of my friends led me to meetings of the local church in Taipei. Every Sunday morning, I went to the meeting to hear the messages. I felt poor in my spirit. The longing for God increased day by day. Every word of the brothers’ speaking penetrated my heart and filled me up. Gradually, things of the world lost their attraction. I knew God was the most attractive and valuable One to me.

Now, the Lord Jesus is not objective to me anymore. I found Him and He found me. He is so dear and approachable. Meeting with the local church, I have learned to fellowship with Him, and He is real and lives inside of me. I can seek His leading in both great and small things. Because of Him, my life is full of meaning, hope, peace and joy. I don’t feel the emptiness of life anymore.
